Get Involved

nConnect makes getting involved with education easy for businesses. Whether you are interested in hosting a class for a company tour, creating an internship, or simply posting your company information online at nConnect’s BizConnect platform, nConnect can help you find a meaningful volunteer experience that is right for your company and your employees.

Benefits of participating in nConnect:

  • Increases employee morale
  • Builds future workforce pipeline
  • Improves school outcomes for our region’s students
  • Mentoring students is both enlightening and fun!

Our volunteers consistently report a high level of personal satisfaction from their participation in nConnect programs. Interacting with students at the very cusp of their careers triggers a great deal of self-reflection and even leads to personal and professional growth for our volunteers!

Last year, 300 local STEM professionals volunteered a total of 4,400 hours of their time to help put classroom learning in context for our students. Thank you!

Put Your Passion, Knowledge, and Skills to Work!

Do you love calculus?  Can't get enough of statistics?  Think about physics every day?  Put your passion, knowledge and skills to work by volunteering with a high school science or math class!

nConnect matches science and engineering professionals with Advanced Placement science and math classes at area high schools. Participating school districts include Evergreen, Vancouver, Camas, La Center, Kelso and Longview.  Volunteers are needed for the 2012-2013 program year, which starts this fall.

Professionals serve as tutors and mentors, helping students understand the subject matter and showing the relevance of school work to the “real world.” The commitment is 2-4 hours per month from October – May.  This is a fun, easy way to give back to the local community and help develop the pipeline of future scientists and engineers. nConnect provides training and ongoing support to all mentors.
